Hello!  My name is Nicholas.  I was born in Mountain View, California and lived in Shanghai for thirteen years.  I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts at University of Colorado Boulder.  I moved to LA to pursue 3D art at Gnomon School of VFX.  I specialize in both stylized and realistic characters for games and game cinematics.  The process of building a character is a wonderful journey.

I am an avid and competitive gamer and enjoy spending time with friends, drawing, eating good food, and ripping through touges during my free time.  

SUMMARY OF SKILLS


Character Modeling and Texturing:

  • Able to model and sculpt stylized and realistic characters with clean topology and UVs

  • Great knowledge of PBR texturing workflow and hand painted textures.

  • Experience with baking software such as Marmoset Toolbag and Substance Painter

  • Familiar with Xgen grooming and stylized hair sculpting.

  • Strong understanding of anatomy and silhouette

  • Able to reference existing and original concept designs to work.

Communication:

  • Experience working with multicultural work environment

  • Able to quickly incorporate feedback and critique notes into work.
